Film Screenings: Beating the Bomb and the Economics of Happiness

Two fantastic independent films are screening in inner-Melbourne:

Beating the Bomb is the story about the biggest weapons of mass destruction ever created. It is about the people who use them, more importantly, it is about the people who fight them. Co-director and producer Meera Patel will be at both screenings and available to answer questions afterwards.

The Economics of Happiness

This film explores the concept of relocalisation. ‘Going local’ is a powerful strategy to help repair our fractured world – our ecosystems, our societies and our selves. Far from the old institutions of power, this film shows us people that are starting to forge a very different future.

World’s first pedal-powered Moonlight Cinema

A starlit night provides a great backdrop on a balmy Melbourne summer eve for a good outdoor movie night, but unfortunately, it doesn’t provide much power for the solar panels. The Melbourne Girls’ College Sustainability Collective has teamed up with the engineers from Future Spark to come up with the world’s first 100% pedal powered Moonlight cinema!
