Energy retailers and coal/gas companies Origin Energy and Energy Australia (formerly TRUenergy) have been lobbying hard to water down or scrap Australia’s most effective renewable energy policy, the Renewable Energy Target. The Federal Liberal Party has finally updated its website to include its policies for stopping the climate crisis and for the development of renewable energy. It is refreshing to see a political party dispense with the spin and fanfare around a policy and just provide the public with the fundamentals of what they plan to do to solve this massive problem.

In a big win for humanity and common sense, the Federal Government has finally withdrawn taxpayer funding from HRL, the proposed new brown coal-fired power station in the Latrobe Valley. Well done to all who took part in the campaign.
